Monthly vs. bi-weekly payment cycles with payment timeline

Read this to learn how to choose a payment frequency, understand invoice and payout timelines, and update your payment settings in the Supplier Portal.

What payment frequencies are available?

GetYourGuide offers two payment frequencies for supply partners regardless of payment method: monthly and bi-weekly.

  • Monthly payment: one invoice and one payment run per month
  • Bi-weekly payment: two invoices and two payment runs per month

Actionable tip: Choose monthly if you prefer fewer reconciliations. Choose bi-weekly if you want faster cash flow and can accommodate the additional commission.

How monthly payments work

Timeline

  • Invoice issued: 1st business day of the month
  • Payment processed: 5th business day of the month
  • Payment Confirmation available in supplier portal (meaning, GetYourGuide received a successful response from PayPal or our bank confirming the validity of the payment transfer):
  • Bank transfer can take up to the 12th business day of the month. Please allow the full window before escalating.
  • PayPal may take up to 24 hours.

What’s included

  • Bookings with travel dates in the previous month & adjustment payments submitted from 26th of the month before the previous month until the 25th (inclusive) of the previous month

Cost

  • No extra cost

How bi-weekly payments work

    • 1st business day of the month
    • 16th of the month (or the next business day if the 16th is a weekend/holiday)
  • Payments processed:
    • 5th business day of the month
    • 20th business day of the month
  • Payment Confirmation available in supplier portal (meaning, GetYourGuide received a successful response from PayPal or our bank confirming the validity of the payment transfer):

Who can choose a payment frequency, and when do changes take effect?
  • All supply partners can choose their payment frequency.
  • You can change your payment frequency at any time.
  • Any changes to payment frequency and commission rate become effective from the 1st of the following month.
  • Example

Frequently asked questions

Bi-weekly payment used to not have an extra cost. Why was a fee introduced?

The fee was waived during the COVID-19 pandemic as a support measure. Because higher-frequency payments create higher processing costs, an elevated commission for bi-weekly payment frequency applies to all bookings effective March 2023, regardless of booking date.

Closing

Monthly payments offer a simple monthly reconciliation with no extra cost, while bi-weekly payments provide faster cash flow with a +2% commission and a split payout schedule. Update your payment frequency in Finance > Payment & Tax Details > Payment Settings to align payouts with your business needs.
