Read this to learn how to create and use QR codes to collect more reviews from customers. By the end of this article, you'll know exactly how to set up QR codes for your activities and place them to boost your review collection.
What are Review QR Codes?
Review QR Codes are a new feature that lets you create, download and print QR codes for each of your activities. When a customer* scans these codes with their smartphones, they're taken directly to the review submission form where they can quickly leave feedback about their experience.
*Note: The customer needs to have an active booking on GetYourGuide to be able to leave a review.

Where to place your QR codes
You can get creative with QR code placement. Here are a few ideas:
Physical placement options:
- On the back of seats during tours
- On business cards you hand out
- On leaflets or brochures about your activity
- On lanyards worn by your team
- On merchandise or souvenirs
- On t-shirts or uniforms
- On posters or signs at your location
Digital display options:
- Show it on your phone or tablet screen
- Display it on digital screens at your venue
Best practice: Place your QR code during the most engaging moment of your activity when guests are having the most positive experience. This increases the likelihood they'll leave a great review. For more tips, check out our blog article.
Frequently asked questions
Are there any limitations I should know about?
- The review submission page is only accessible in case of a valid GetYourGuide booking. If other participants (that do not have a GetYourGuide booking) scan the code, they will be redirected to GetYourGuide’s homepage.
- GetYourGuide QR codes are activity-specific – each code is designed to collect reviews for each individual activity you offer. We do not provide a supplier-specific review code for customers to review your business.
- You need access to a printer if you want to use physical QR codes. Digital display on phones/tablets is also an option if printing isn't available.
Do travelers need a special app to scan the QR code? No, customers can use their smartphone's built-in camera app or any standard QR code scanner. Most modern smartphones can scan QR codes directly through their camera app.
Can I create multiple QR codes for different activities at once? Yes, you can create separate QR codes for each of your activities separately or select multiple activities in the drop-down list under “Product” to download multiple QR codes in one go.
What happens when someone scans my QR code? When the customer scans your QR code, they're directed to the review submission form under “My bookings” on the GetYourGuide app where they can quickly and easily leave a review for your specific activity. Note that if other participants that do not have an associated booking scan the code, they will be redirected to the homepage.
Can I customize my QR code? Yes! When creating your QR code, you can customize the product it's for, layout, format, and instruction text to match your needs.
Can I print the QR code in my preferred language? The QR code will be created in the language you selected to navigate the Supplier Portal. If you want to download it in another language, please use the language picker above your profile name to change the language first. Then, you will be able to download the QR code in the selected language.
Currently Supplier Portal languages available are: German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Croatian, Turkish, Czech, Greek, Japanese and Thai.
Can I track how many people scan my QR code? Currently, we don't provide analytics for QR codes (for example, the number of reviews collected through each code). We're working to add this capability in future releases. Please feel free to share feedback with us about what data would be most helpful for your business.
What if the QR code isn't working?
Check that:
- The QR code image is clear and not damaged
- There's adequate lighting for scanning
- The code isn't too small or too large
- The customer’s internet connection is stable
- The customer has an active GetYourGuide booking
Can I update my QR code after creating it?
You can create new QR codes anytime through the Supplier Portal. If you need to make changes, simply generate a new code with your updated preferences.
