What are Recommended Actions?

Recommended Actions (previously known as Insights) can be found in the Supplier Portal and are our suggestions on how you can optimize your products to drive more bookings and improve customer satisfaction. 

Recommended Actions are created in two ways:

AI-generated - these are based on patterns in customer contacts or reviews, or from automated checks for inconsistencies, contradictions, or unclear information in your listing. Resolving these actions can help set accurate expectations, improve customer confidence to book, and grow your average rating.

Curated - these take the current information about your product and its category to provide actionable suggestions. They can also come from prospective customers or internal auditors who find problems with your listing. The solutions are based on best practices and past research, and are aimed mainly at driving revenue growth.

Tip: Prioritize actions that remove unclear or contradictory information first. Clear, accurate content reduces customer questions and helps travelers book with confidence.

How to find actions

You can find open Recommended Actions in the Performance page in the Supplier Portal.

  1. Open the Supplier Portal main menu and go to Performance.
  2. Scroll past the “Performance by product” section.
  3. Review the open Recommended Actions at the bottom of the page.

Each action card includes: 

  • Product title: the product the action applies to
  • Action title: a summary of what we recommend
  • Description: more detail about the action and why it’s beneficial
  • Button: (e.g. "Add availability" in the example below) takes you to the following step where you can carry out the suggestion 

If a product has open actions, you can also find them at the bottom of the product’s individual performance page. In this view, the title at the top refers to a specific option, not the product.

How to complete an action

  1. Select the button on the action card to open the action view.
  2. Read the details about the problem and suggestion, and check the information in the relevant sections or settings shown. Here’s an example:

  1. Make and save your updates
  2. You’ll see a pop-up notification confirming the recommended action has been addressed. 
  3. You’ll then be back on the Performance page, where you can continue with the next action.

Note: some actions will take you to Availability or into the full product/option creation flow to make the change.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What happens if a Recommended Action doesn’t make sense? You can dismiss an action by selecting the ‘X’ and choosing the reason that best matches your situation.
  • How quickly should Recommended Actions be resolved? Aim to resolve actions within 30 days, but the sooner the better to reap the benefits.
  • How can I track the impact of these actions? Monitor performance metrics like conversion rates and revenue growth in the Performance page.
