GetYourGuide has introduced the Price over API feature. This feature enables automatic updates of your retail prices based on data from your reservation system, eliminating the need for manual price updates and minimizing booking discrepancies. One of the advantages of Price over API is that it allows for time slots to have different prices on the same tour option. GetYourGuide will pull pricing information the same way we update availability if your system supports this functionality with GetYourGuide and it is enabled for your products.
This is an optional feature and can be enabled on the tour option level for options of your choice. Please review the information below before you proceed with enabling Price over API. Currently, not all product configurations are supported by this feature.

Price Update Frequency & Dynamic Pricing
Similarly to availability, pricing information is pulled from your reservation system on a pre-defined schedule and is not updated in real time. GetYourGuide's current default frequency of updates for most systems is as follows (it may vary based on different factors, such as errors or booking volume):
- Every 8 days we fetch availability (and prices) for the next 365 days
- Every 4 days we fetch availability (and prices) for the next 90 days
- Every 1 day we fetch availability (and prices) for the next 30 days
- Every 4 hours we fetch availability (and prices) for the next 7 days
Dynamic pricing with very frequent, automatic price changes based on demand, capacity or other factors may not supported at this time.
Important Notes
- Most ticket categories, including Adult, Child, Youth, Infant, Senior, Student, EU Citizen, Military, and Group products are supported. Price over API is configured to accept retail rates only. Retail prices shared by your reservation system must include taxes and fees.
- You must have pricing for all available time slots in the next 365 days in your reservation system. If there is a time slot with available vacancies and no price assigned, the slot will not be made bookable on GetYourGuide.
- Prices provided by your reservation system must be in the same currency as the currency you have selected in GetYourGuide Supplier Administration.
- The price received over API will override any price manually configured in the GetYourGuide Supplier Administration.
How to enable Price over API
Please follow the steps below to enable this feature:

- Confirm your reservation/ticketing system supports the Price over API feature with GetYourGuide. Make sure the integration and Price over API feature are enabled in your system and copy your Product IDs. For system-specific instructions, please refer to the Supported Systems & Instructions article or contact your system's Integration Support.
- If you have not done so already, please create a product that you would like to connect via Price over API. For more information on getting started creating a product, see our Uploading products article.
- Once you’ve created a product, go to the homepage of your GetYourGuide Supplier Administration account. Go to “Manage” → “Products”.
- Select the product you would like to connect from the “Products” page. Once selected, choose the option you would like to connect by clicking “Edit option”.
- If you have not already done so, connect the option to your reservation system by going to the “Connectivity Settings” section. Select your reservation system and enter the external product ID associated with the option. Click “Continue”. This should take you to the “Availability & Pricing” section. If not, please click on “Availability & Pricing”.
- On the “Pricing Categories” page, under “Tell us more about your prices”, select the option relevant to you and set up your pricing categories. Then, click “Save and Continue”.
- On the “Capacity” page, under “How many participants can you take per booking?”, enter the minimum and maximum number of participants per booking. Then, click “Save and Continue”.
- On the “Price” page, under “Do you want to apply the prices that you have specified in your reservation system?”, select “Yes. I want to import my pricing configuration.” Click “Save and Continue”.
- On the “Validate” page, wait to see the green “Validation Successful: Your product is now connected to GetYourGuide and will be live soon” message. This might take a minute. Once you see this message, click “Finish”. The “Finish” button may take a few seconds to become clickable. If the validation has failed, a red error message will appear.

Once you have completed these steps, please make sure to check the live site to ensure the pricing is correct. The pricing of your activity will not show up in the Supplier Portal. Rather, it will say, “Pricing: Consumed from the reservation system”, as shown in the photo below.
Please note: When using Price over API, on the product page where all your options are listed, prices will not be displayed. Rather, there will simply be a dash (-) next to retail prices, as pictured below. To display your pricing details, click “Show pricing and availability”. Then, click the arrow next to “Default pricing”.
A Note on Price over API Modifications
When making changes to the “Availability & Pricing” section, always make sure to double check that “Yes. I want to import my pricing configuration.” is selected before saving, as this may change while making modifications.
How to disable Price over API and switch to a manual pricing configuration
If, for any reason, it is necessary to disable Price over API, please follow the steps below.
Please note: All pricing configurations are deleted when Price over API is enabled. New pricing configurations must be created manually when Price over API is disabled.
- In your GetYourGuide Supplier Administration account, go to “Manage” → “Products”. Choose your desired product by clicking “See details”. Then, select the option you would like to disconnect by clicking “Edit option”.
- Select “Availability & Pricing” on the left hand side of the page.
- On the “Pricing Categories” page, under “Tell us more about your prices”, select the option relevant to your activity and edit the pricing categories, if necessary. Click “Save and Continue”.
- On the “Capacity” page, under “How many participants can you take per booking?”, edit the minimum and maximum number of participants allowed per booking, if necessary. Click “Save and Continue”.
- On the “Price” page, under “Do you want to apply the prices that you have specified in your reservation system?”, select “No. I will manually add the pricing configuration.” Enter the retail prices for each of your items. Click “Save and Continue”.
- On the “Validate” page, wait to see the green “Validation Successful: Your product is now connected to GetYourGuide and will be live soon” message. This might take a minute. Once you see this message, click “Finish”. The “Finish” button may take a few seconds to become clickable. If the validation has failed, a red error message will appear.

- Once this has been completed and you return to the main “Availability & Pricing” page, the “Pricing” section should read as “Set manually”, as shown below.
- Once you have made your modifications, please check them on the live site.
- When returning to the main page of your product that includes all of your options, you can click “Show Pricing and Availability” and then click the arrow on the right to view your updated pricing, as shown below.
