About Creator Reviews
What is Creator Reviews?
When your activity is new, or recent on GetYourGuide, reviews are usually the missing piece. Creator Reviews is a GetYourGuide program that helps new or under-reviewed activities get their first reviews. When you enroll in an activity, it becomes available to our Creator Community of content creators, travel bloggers, local experts, and travel agents. If one of them chooses it, they experience it like any other traveler and leave an honest review with photos within 48 hours of the experience.
For a full overview of the program, visit the Creator Reviews page.
Why do first reviews matter so much?
9 out of 10 travelers check reviews before booking an activity. Reviews turn interest into the confidence to book, and the first ones work the hardest: our research shows travelers are three times more likely to book an activity with 3 reviews than an activity with none. he sooner they arrive, the sooner your activity starts performing.
Who are the creators? Are they influencers?
They're content creators, bloggers, and travel agents from our community: experienced travelers who know what people want to know before they book. Nobody pays them to say nice things, and nobody hands them a script. They pick your activity because it interests them and their reviews focus on honest impressions and practical details..
How it works
What exactly am I offering?
One free booking per enrolled activity, for max. 2 participants (the creator and one companion). The creator books through GetYourGuide and takes part like any other guest. You receive no payout for this booking, and no commission is charged. In return, you get a detailed, honest review while your activity still building its track record.
Which activities are eligible?
Activities with fewer than 3 reviews, a minimum group size of 1 (so a solo creator can book), and at least one available date bookable within the next 7 days. The program is specifically for newer listings that haven’t had the chance to collect reviews yet.
Can I exclude an expensive option (e.g. the private tour)?
No. Enrolling an activity includes all its options. If there is an option you don't want booked for free, you should not enroll this activity.
How do I enroll?
- Go to Manage > Creator Reviews in the Supplier Portal
- Select the activities you want to enroll and click Enroll activities.
- Confirm in the pop-up. You'll get an email listing the activities you enrolled.
Enrolling an activity includes all of its options, so this means a creator can book any of them.
When will I receive the review?
We ask creators to leave their reviews within 48 hours of the experience taking place.
Can I control when the creator books?
Creators book from your available dates within the next 7 days. You can’t assign a specific slot. If there are dates you don’t want used, block them in your availability calendar before you enroll.
How many creator reviews can I get per activity?
One. Once a creator books, the activity's status changes to "Closed to creators" and it can't be booked again through the program. We're in Beta and may expand this later.
What happens if no creator books?
A booking isn’t guaranteed. Your activity stays enrolled until you opt it out, and you don't give anything until a booking is confirmed. Good photos and open dates improve your odds.
Reviews and transparency
How do I know the review will be honest and unbiased?
We ask creators forhonest, authentic reviews. We don’t edit or filter these reviews, and they’re never anonymous.
How will customers see these reviews?
Right alongside your other reviews, with one visible difference: the “Tested by a travel partner” label, there for transparency. In practice, these tend to be among the most useful reviews on a page, longer, more specific, and often with photos.
What if a creator leaves a negative review?
The program delivers an honest review, not a guaranteed 5-star one. Credible, detailed feedback is what makes travelers trust the reviews on your page in the first place. If a review breaks our review guidelines, you can flag it like any other review on GetYourGuide, or you can respond to it directly in the Supplier Portal.
Will the creator post about my activity on social media?
That's not part of the deal. Creators commit to one thing: a detailed review with photos on your activity page. Many do share favorite experiences with their own audience, but it's up to them.
Enrollment and control
Do I have to enroll to get bookings on GetYourGuide?
No. Creator Reviews is optional. You choose which activities to enroll in, and you can opt out of any of them any time before a booking is confirmed.
How many activities can I enroll in?
You can enroll in as many eligible activities as you like. Each one can receive 1 creator review.
Can I opt out?
Yes, at any time before the booking is confirmed. Go to the Manage > Creator Reviews in the Supplier Portal and switch off the Enrolled toggle. Once a booking is confirmed, the creator is expected to attend and leave a review.
Do I have to give anything besides the free booking?
No.You’re offering one free booking for the creator and one companion (1 booking up to 2 participants), once per activity. It’s optional and it’s your choice, activity by activity.
Practicalities
Can I see who the creator is before the booking is confirmed?
You'll see the booking in your booking list like any other, with the customer's name, but at a price of 0, and labeled as a Creator Reviews booking. You won't see a creator profile or their channels in advance.
What if I need to cancel the creator’s booking?
A creator booking is a confirmed booking, so our standard cancellation terms apply. If you need to cancel, we recommend doing it as early as possible. To avoid this situation, we recommend only enrolling activities where you have stable availability.
How does the €0 booking show on my invoice and do I need to do anything for taxes?
It appears as a €0 line, same as the booking list. Talk to your accountant if you're unsure how to record a free service.
