What is Creator Reviews?
When your activity is new on GetYourGuide, reviews are usually the missing piece. Creator Reviews gives you a way to get them sooner: you offer 2 free spots on one booking to a member of our community of content creators, travel bloggers and travel agents. They join your activity like any other guest, and within 48 hours after the experience, they post a detailed, honest review on your GetYourGuide listing. It’s a way to start building social proof from day one.
Why do first reviews matter so much?
9 out of 10 travelers check reviews before booking an activity. Reviews are what turn interest into the confidence to book, and the first ones work the hardest: our research shows travelers are three times more likely to book an activity with 3 reviews than an activity with none. Every early review gives travelers concrete reasons to choose your activity, and the sooner they arrive, the sooner your activity starts performing.
Who are the creators? Are they influencers?
Our travel community counts more than 200,000 members, travel agents, online travel publishers, bloggers, content creators, and seasoned travelers. Nobody pays them to say nice things, and nobody hands them a script. They pick your activity because it interests them, and their reviews often focus on what travelers actually want to know before booking. Honest impressions and the practical details that build confidence.
How it works
What exactly am I offering?
One free booking, capped at 2 participants, per activity you enroll. The creator books through the platform and takes part like any other guest. You receive no payment for this booking. What you get in return is a detailed, honest review at the moment your activity needs it most: while it’s still building its track record.
Which activities are eligible?
Only activities with fewer than 3 reviews, a minimum group size of 1 (so solo travellers can join), and at least one available date bookable within the next 7 days. The program is specifically for newer listings that haven’t had the chance to build a review track record yet.
How do I opt in?
Look for the “Get more bookings with Creator Reviews” prompt on your homepage
Click “Learn more”
Select the activities you want to include – all eligible activities are checked by default, just uncheck any you want to leave out
Click “Enroll activities”
You’ll get a confirmation once you’re opted in.
When will I receive the review?
We ask creators to leave their reviews within 48 hours of the experience taking place.
Can I control when the creator books?
Creators book from your existing available dates within the next 7 days. You can’t assign a specific slot, but any dates you have open are eligible. If there are dates you don’t want used, block them in your availability calendar before opting in.
How many creator reviews can I get per activity?
One. Each opted-in activity can receive a maximum of 1 creator review. We’re currently in Beta and may expand this later.
What happens if no creator books after I opt in?
A booking isn’t guaranteed. If no creator books, your activity stays opted in until you decide to remove it. You won’t be asked to offer anything until a booking is actually confirmed.
Reviews and transparency
How do I know the review will be honest and unbiased?
We ask creators to give honest, authentic reviews. We don’t edit these reviews, we don’t filter them, and they’re never anonymous. Each one carries a “Travel partner tested” label on your activity page, so travelers always see the full context.
How will customers see these reviews?
Right alongside your other reviews, with one visible difference: the “Travel partner tested” label, there for transparency. In practice, these tend to be among the most useful reviews on a page, longer, more specific, and often with photos.
What if a creator leaves a negative review?
What the program delivers is an honest review, not a guaranteed 5-star review. That said, credible, detailed feedback is exactly what makes travelers trust the reviews on your page in the first place. And if a review breaks our review guidelines, you can flag it, same as any other review on GetYourGuide, or you can respond to it directly in the Supplier Portal
Could this bring my activity extra visibility?
Many creators talk about their favorite experiences with their own audience, so a memorable activity could spread beyond the review itself. But they do not commit to this; we only ask them to leave a review.
Participation and control
Do I have to participate to get bookings on GetYourGuide?
No. Participation is entirely up to you. You choose which activities to take part in, and you can withdraw them at any time before a booking is confirmed. Nothing is ever opted in without your decision.
How many activities can I opt in?
You can opt in multiple eligible activities. Each one can receive up to 1 creator review.
Can I opt out after opting in?
Yes, at any time before the booking is confirmed. Once a booking is confirmed, the creator is expected to attend and leave a review. If you decide to opt out before any booking is confirmed, please contact us via the contact form.
Do I have to give anything besides the free spot?
No, you’re not paying anything extra. You’re offering one free booking (up to 2 participants) on an activity once. It’s optional and it’s your choice, activity by activity.
Practicalities
Will the creator post about my activity on social media?
No. Creators don’t commit to posting content on their own channels. Their commitment is to leave a review on your activity page.
Can I see who the creator is before the booking is confirmed?
No. For now, a Creator booking looks just like any other booking on your calendar. You won't see who's coming in advance. Only the review will have a “Travel partner tested” label.
What if I need to cancel the creator’s booking?
A creator booking works exactly like any other booking, so your existing cancellation policy applies. If you need to cancel, we recommend doing it as early as possible. To avoid this situation, only opt in activities where you have stable availability.
