Verification: How to Find Your Company Registration Number

Not sure where to find your company registration number? Get country-specific guidance on locating your business registration details, so your business check passes on the first try.

1. What a registration number is (and is not)

Your company registration number is the unique number your business received when it was officially registered with a government authority or business registry. It is different from your tax number, VAT number, or business license/permit number, even if they sometimes look similar.

You should be able to search this number in a public government business registry and find your company’s record.

If you enter a number in the form and cannot find your company with it on your government’s business registry website, it is probably the wrong number.

2. General steps (any country)

  1. Go to your government’s official business registry website (search “[your country] business registry” if needed).
  2. Search for your company by name
  3. Find the main registration number on that page or on your certificate of incorporation.
  4. Enter that number in the GetYourGuide verification form.

Common mistakes: using a VAT number, using a personal tax ID, adding or removing spaces or characters, or leaving out prefix letters like HRB or KVK.

If your country is not listed above:

  • Look for the official company registration number issued by your national or regional business registry.
  • Make sure this number can be used to look up your company in a public database.
  • If you are unsure which number to use, contact Supplier Support with your country of registration and they can help you identify the right one.

Important: If your business operates in several countries, always use the registration number from the country where your legal entity is registered – not where you are physically located.
