Easy Steps for Switching from ARS to USD from February 1st, 2024

GetYourGuide is transitioning to a new currency system starting February 1st, and in order to ensure continued payment, you must make some changes to your account. This guide is designed to assist you through the mandatory process of changing from ARS (Argentinean Peso) to USD (US Dollars). 

Step 1: Acknowledgement of Currency Change

Starting February 1st, ARS can no longer be used in GetYourGuide transactions. To switch currencies, please reach out to our supplier experience team. Simply click [here]to access the contact form, and briefly mention your received email about the ARS discontinuation and your intent to change currencies.

Step 2: Confirmation from Our Team 

Upon receiving your request, we will begin the currency change process. You will be notified within 48 hours that your products have been temporarily deactivated and the currency updated. We strive to respond to any inquiries within 48 hours. Please note, during this period, you will not be able to accept new bookings.

Step 3: Updating Product Prices

After receiving our confirmation email, update your product prices to USD.

Step 4 : Reactivating Your Products

Once the price update is complete, you can reactivate your products via the supplier portal.

Step 5: Updating Payment Details

Re-enter your payment details, ensuring they are set to receive USD. Please double-check with your bank.

Step 6: Final Confirmation

After updating, you'll receive an email titled “Important Information: Payment Details Update.” Follow the instructions and click the verification link for security purposes. Our team will then validate your new details.

Q: How long does it take to change the currency?

A: The process can be completed in less than 24 hours if you respond promptly to the initial email.

Q : Can I just email you my updated bank details and price ?
No, for security reason we are not allowed to edit your payment details. 

Q: Do I need to update my payment details?

A: Yes, payment details must be re-entered after the currency change in the system.

Q: What if my payment details were already set to receive USD?

A: You will still need to re-enter the same payment details in the system.

Q: Can I switch from international bank transfer to PayPal or vice versa?  

A: Yes, PayPal supports USD.

Q: Can the GetYourGuide support team change the prices for me?  

A: We recommend suppliers to update their prices themselves to expedite the process.

Q: What if my current payment details do not support USD?

A: You can still proceed with the currency change and price updates. Update your payment details later when they can accept USD.

Q: What happens to open bookings past February 1st?

A: For bookings in ARS with travel dates after February 1st, 2024, commissions will be converted to USD using the exchange rate of February 1st, 2024.

Q: What if I didn’t reach out before February 1st?

A: Your tours will be taken offline until the currency change to USD is completed. If you have open bookings and valid payment details, payments will be made in USD. Without valid payment details, payments will be blocked.
